ortugal has so much to offer - a warm climate,
a rich and unique culture, breathtaking scenery,
fascinating history, not to mention delicious food and
world-class wines. On this holiday we will tour the
lively capital city of Lisbon, explore the beautiful
cities in the north and enjoy a week at a Deluxe All-
Inclusive resort on the magical island of Madeira - a
lush oasis with a mild climate, dramatic seascapes
and magnificent flowers that flourish only here.
We begin with a 2-night stay in the Portuguese
capital, Lisbon, where we will enjoy a city tour and
an afternoon at leisure to explore this fascinating
and historic city. We then venture north to the
ancient medieval walled city of Obidos and also
Nazare, a picturesque seaside village on the
Atlantic coast. We will visit the Batalha Monastery,
one of Europe's greatest Gothic masterpieces and a
designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will
stay in Fatima, famous for the 1917 reported
apparations of the Virgin Mary. In Coimbra we see
the ancient university perched high above the
Mondego River, and in Aviero we see the uniquely
beautiful cathedrals, canals and beaches of the
Peninsula de São Jacinto. Many consider the
highlight of northern Portugal to be Oporto, built into
the granite cliffs located on the beautiful river Douro.
Oporto is a charming jumble of styles from different
historic periods: narrow medieval alleyways and
squares; extravagant baroque churches and wide
boulevards lined with stately edifices. You'll see an
array of architectural gems from the Roman, Gothic,
Baroque, Neoclassic and Renaissance eras.
From Oporto we fly to the magical island of Madeira
for a 7-night stay with touring included. Our hotel
here is the Deluxe Enotel Lido Resort & Spa,
situated right on the sea a short stroll from the
popular Lido area of Madeira’s capital, Funchal. The
hotel is connected to a lovely seaside promenade
with a wide selection of restaurants, cafés and
shopping. Facilities of the hotel include a large
