CONTROLLED GROWTH IN WORK FORCE AND PROGRESS IN SAFETY: the total work force, with 319,502 employees,
increased 7% from 2006. Its growth was driven by Europe, where 72% of the company’s staff work. Nearly two-thirds
of employees are fi eld operatives. Safety indicators improved further.
