Bolstering the company’s growth
Veolia Environnement’s work force in
2015 will be close to 600,000 employees,
up from 320,000 currently. Threequarters
will be working outside France.
To off set work force attrition and help
the company grow, more than
500,000 employees will have to join
Veolia Environnement by 2015. The
additions to the work force will be
ensured by recruitment, acquisitions,
and taking over business units and
their teams. Our management is
working on how to steer this growth
under the best conditions. It is
determined to ensure that our
corporate culture, based on premium
service and quality, is maintained
and shared by all new employees
throughout the world by blending
respect for local values and
compliance with the most
demanding professional standards.
Attracting talent
In a tough job market, Veolia
Environnement is striving to attract
and train the best employees in all the
socioprofessional categories and in all
the employment areas where the
company operates.
In line with this approach, we favor a
proactive recruitment drive that
provides training for future employees
regardless of their age and initial
educational background. As part of
this policy, a recruitment drive was
launched in France, called Veolia
Compétences. It resulted in nearly
6,600 people being hired in 2007.
Similar initiatives are being
implemented throughout the world,
such as the so-called Sherpa program
for up-and-coming international
managers of Veolia Energy (Dalkia)
that covers more than 30 countries, or
the European recruitment campaign
conducted by Veolia Transport.

Veolia Environnement puts great
emphasis on professional training
as a way to enhance the skills of all
its employees and ensure their career
development within the company.
