Bolster<strong>in</strong>g the company’s growth<br />
Veolia Environnement’s work force <strong>in</strong><br />
2015 will be close to 600,000 employees,<br />
up from 320,000 currently. Threequarters<br />
will be work<strong>in</strong>g outside France.<br />
To off set work force attrition and help<br />
the company grow, more than<br />
500,000 employees will have to jo<strong>in</strong><br />
Veolia Environnement by 2015. The<br />
additions to the work force will be<br />
ensured by recruitment, acquisitions,<br />
and tak<strong>in</strong>g over bus<strong>in</strong>ess units and<br />
their teams. Our management is<br />
work<strong>in</strong>g on how to steer this growth<br />
under the best conditions. It is<br />
determ<strong>in</strong>ed to ensure that our<br />
corporate culture, based on premium<br />
service and quality, is ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>ed<br />
and shared by all new employees<br />
throughout the world by blend<strong>in</strong>g<br />
respect for local values and<br />
compliance with the most<br />

Attract<strong>in</strong>g talent<br />
In a tough job market, Veolia<br />
Environnement is striv<strong>in</strong>g to attract<br />
and tra<strong>in</strong> the best employees <strong>in</strong> all the<br />
socioprofessional categories and <strong>in</strong> all<br />
the employment areas where the<br />
company operates.<br />
In l<strong>in</strong>e with this approach, we favor a<br />
proactive recruitment drive that<br />
provides tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for future employees<br />
regardless of their age and <strong>in</strong>itial<br />
educational background. As part of<br />
this policy, a recruitment drive was<br />
launched <strong>in</strong> France, called Veolia<br />
Compétences. It resulted <strong>in</strong> nearly<br />
6,600 people be<strong>in</strong>g hired <strong>in</strong> 2007.<br />
Similar <strong>in</strong>itiatives are be<strong>in</strong>g<br />
implemented throughout the world,<br />
such as the so-called Sherpa program<br />
for up-and-com<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />
managers of Veolia Energy (<strong>Dalkia</strong>)<br />
that covers more than 30 countries, or<br />
the European recruitment campaign<br />
conducted by Veolia Transport.<br />

Veolia Environnement puts great<br />
