The display during realtime recording<br />

The CURRENT display will indicate the measure and beat<br />

being recorded. The NEXT display will indicate the number<br />

of measures in the entire pattern.<br />

(Example) Measure 3, beat 2, pattern length is 8 measures<br />

The current recording location (grid line) within the measure<br />

is also shown by the beat scan indicators.<br />

Practice performing in recording mode<br />

(Rehearsal)<br />

You can temporarily suspend recording without actually<br />

stopping realtime recording. This allows you to alternate<br />

between practicing and recording without having to actually<br />

start and stop recording.<br />

1. During realtime recording, press [ ].<br />

[ ] will blink, and you will be in rehearsal mode. In this<br />

state, your performance will not be recorded.<br />

2. When you are finished practicing, press [<br />

again.<br />

] once<br />

[ ] will light, and you will return to normal realtime<br />

recording mode.<br />

Chapter 6. Creating an Original Pattern<br />

Erasing unwanted data while<br />

recording (Realtime Erase)<br />

Instances of a particular kind of data that occur within data<br />

you are playing back can be erased from the current part.<br />

Simply press the relevant button (see below) while holding<br />

down [EXIT (ERASE)].<br />

Instances of the specified form of data that occur at the<br />

moments when you have the buttons pressed will be erased.<br />

[EXIT]+[ ] All performance data will be<br />

erased.<br />

[EXIT]+[EDIT] Erase all control data etc.<br />

[EXIT]+[NOTE NUMBER] Notes of the selected note number<br />

will be erased.<br />

[EXIT]+[VELOCITY] All notes will be erased.<br />

[EXIT]+external keyboard Notes between the lowest and<br />

highest notes you pressed on<br />

the keyboard will be erased.<br />

If you wish to connect an external keyboard and record, turn<br />

Auto Channel (p. 77) to “ON.”<br />

Part editing while you record in real<br />

time<br />

If you perform part edit (p. 19) operations during realtime<br />

recording, your editing operations will also be recorded.<br />

By using this feature, you can reproduce changes in level and<br />

pan during pattern playback.<br />
