private register") Jean, daughter <strong>of</strong> Sir John Moncreiff<strong>of</strong> that Ilk, and<br />

widow <strong>of</strong> Sir Simon Fraser <strong>of</strong> Inverallochy, 3rd son <strong>of</strong> Simon, 6th Lord<br />

Lovat. Her arms are to be seen impaled <strong>with</strong> those <strong>of</strong> her husband on a<br />

tablet, formerly at Muchalls, but now built into the outer wall <strong>of</strong> Crathes.<br />

<strong>The</strong>re are a huntsman and a dog for supporters, the usual crest, but for<br />

motto Alterius non sit qui potest esse suns. \ To this lady Sir Thomas<br />

a Hollin -tree all proper, hath the same motto: and having pursued Burnet <strong>of</strong> Lees before<br />

Lindsay <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> Mount, then Lyun, to change his motto, Lees did thereupon take for his motto,<br />
