SIR ALEXANDER RAMSAY, 2nd BARONET, born i4th February, 1785.<br />

and co-heiress<br />

He married (ist), ist August, 1811, Jane, eldest daughter<br />

<strong>of</strong> James Russell <strong>of</strong> Blackball, Co. Kincardine. She died in 1819. By<br />

this lady he had three sons and two daughters :<br />

I. ALEXANDER, 3rd Baronet<br />

II. WILLIAM, born 1814, died 1840.<br />

III. FRANCIS, born 1815. Served in the Royal Artillery. He married,<br />

in 1848, Georgina Hay, third daughter <strong>of</strong> William Foreman<br />

Home <strong>of</strong> Wedderburn, and has :<br />

1. WILLIAM ALEXANDER, born 5th December, 1848. Colonel,<br />

4th Hussars. Married, 2nd September, 1873, Susan<br />

Newcombe, daughter <strong>of</strong> William Minchiner <strong>of</strong> Clontarf,<br />

Co. Dublin.<br />

2. FRANCIS FARQUHARSON, born 28th July, 1855 ; died 7th<br />

April, 1898. Captain, Gordon Highlanders (92nd).<br />

i. FANNY JANE.<br />

I. MARY, married (ist), in 1837, the Rev. Bruges<br />

Lambert <strong>of</strong><br />

Misterton, Co. Somerset, who died 1843 ; and (2nd), 25th<br />

February, 1845, John Sparks <strong>of</strong> Crewkerne, Somerset.<br />

II. ELIZABETH, married (ist) John Carr, second son <strong>of</strong> John Carr <strong>of</strong><br />

Dunstanhill, Co. Durham, who died 1856 ; (2nd), in 1860, Charles<br />

Murray Barstow, who died in 1885. She died I4th February,<br />

1887.<br />

Sir Alexander Ramsay married (2nd), 26th December, 1822, Elizabeth,<br />

second daughter <strong>of</strong> William Lord Panmure, by whom he had four sons<br />

and three daughters. She died I2th September, 1852 :<br />

I. FOX MAULE, born i8th March, 1824. Captain in the $6th<br />

Regiment; died, unmarried, i$th March, 1860.<br />

II. EDWARD BANNERMAN, born i6th February, 1830. Major-General,<br />

Madras Staff Corps ; died, unmarried, 25th December, 1883.
