Urban:<br />

• From T1 to T8, <strong>the</strong> teenage pregnancy rates across most urban neighbourhood <strong>in</strong>come qu<strong>in</strong>tile<br />

groups peaked <strong>in</strong> 1996–1998 and dropped below rates <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> first time period. The exception is U1,<br />

where teen pregnancy rates were higher <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> last time period than <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> first time period.<br />

• The disparity between U1 and U5 <strong>in</strong>creased substantially over time. The rate ratio of U1 compared<br />

to U5 was 4.93 <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> first time period and 9.95 <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> last time period, for a statistically significant<br />

<strong>in</strong>crease of 102%. The absolute difference gap of teenage pregnancy compar<strong>in</strong>g U1 to U5 also<br />

statistically significantly <strong>in</strong>creased by 25% over time, from 76.44 more teenage pregnancies per 1,000<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> R1 teens compared to <strong>the</strong> R5 teens <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> first time period, to 94.96 more pregnancies per<br />

1,000 <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> last time period.<br />

• In T1, 39.5% of teenage pregnancy occurred <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> 22.2% of <strong>the</strong> population <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> lowest<br />

neighbourhood <strong>in</strong>come qu<strong>in</strong>tile group R1, with <strong>the</strong> G<strong>in</strong>i coefficient of 0.197 <strong>in</strong>dicat<strong>in</strong>g a statistically<br />

significant disparity.<br />

• In T8, 44.7% of teenage pregnancies occurred <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> 22.5% of <strong>the</strong> population <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> lowest<br />

neighbourhood <strong>in</strong>come qu<strong>in</strong>tile group R1, with <strong>the</strong> G<strong>in</strong>i coefficient of 0.286 <strong>in</strong>dicat<strong>in</strong>g a statistically<br />

significant disparity.<br />
