My varied teaching experience and extensive training enables me to apply myself to a variety of situations
and roles.
• I am PASSIONATE about providing Individual Learning Plans and INSTILLING a lifelong LOVE of
learning.
• I enjoy coaching children with specific learning needs in reading and phonological awareness. Mary,
a 7-year old former pupil with Dyslexia inspired me to learn more about this condition and how to
tailor strategies for children with similar needs.
• The Business Innovation Programme has improved my ability to apply even move creative tools and
techniques within my area of expertise.
At present I am looking into the feasibility of opening a montessori school with a particular emphasis on
the Irish language. I am also looking for teaching opportunities in the Special Education sector.
• I have a flexible adaptable approach to new challenges in the educational arena. My collaborative and
co-operative skills have been enhanced by participation on the Business Innovation Programme
PLANS AND OBJECTIVES FOR FUTURE CAREER
I am seeking a suitable position in direct teaching or ancillary services for children or young adults in
mainstream or special educational settings, specifically looking to:
• Support children/young adults in educational settings with reading/phonological awareness
• Adapt, implement and present lessons to meet individual/small group needs using the concrete,
representation, abstract instructional approach (CRA)
• Working with parents, teachers and other educational/medical bodies to support children's/young
adult's learning inside and outside the classroom
• Working in private/public schools, educational services, programmes, agencies, educational
institutions and residential settings
• Work in companies providing educational materials or services, for example publishing companies
and manufacturers of educational materials and technology

• Member of Toastmasters and will obtain my Competent Communicator Award in 2012
