QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Business Innovation Programme Sep 2011- May 2012 DCU Ryan Academy
Essential Skills of Management Sep-Dec 2006 Irish Management Institute
B.A. International (Hons.) Italian & German 1993-1998 NUI Galway
WHAT I CAN OFFER EMPLOYERS
As a languages graduate who worked in Italy for seven years, I am adept at creating rapport with people
and developing business relationships. Upon my return to Ireland this definitely helped me excel in field
sales, while in a corporate setting I was able to bridge the gaps that between different business areas quite
easily. I am an optimistic and outgoing person and really enjoy a challenge. In these times it has never
been more important to be proactive and the Business Innovation Programme has given me the skills and
tools to not only “think different”, as Steve Jobs said, but to act differently as well. I see a gap as an
opportunity rather than an obstacle. My strong analytical skills combined with an adaptable approach help
me to identify a problem, assess it and develop a response in a rapid timeframe. While organised and
dependable, I am energetic and enthusiastic and would choose variety over routine. I am seeking a role
which requires self-motivation as well as a fresh approach.
PLANS AND OBJECTIVES FOR FUTURE CAREER
My ideal role would involve business development and relationship management, particularly in an
international setting. I am passionate about Irish food and I would love to help promote the sector. My
Business Innovation Programme company placement with an artisan food company has been an ideal
springboard for me, as it has allowed me access to this new sector while at the same time allowing my
sales and marketing experience to shine through. This has given me great confidence in my abilities while
at the same time providing vital skills to this growing business. I am currently focussing on developing a
network of contacts in the south-east while regularly engaging with Bord Bia to keep abreast of
developments nationally and overseas.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
I love travelling, particularly around Europe where there is such a variety of cultures in a relatively small
geographical area.
I adore cookery, whether it be cooking and baking myself, watching TV chefs or reading articles and
cookbooks.
Snowboarding is my own favourite sport, but I love watching rugby, hurling and horse-racing.
