WHAT I CAN OFFER EMPLOYERS
Pastoral & Voluntary Service
The Business Innovation Programme has enabled me to identify my own talent for innovation. My style of
creative thinking is very similar to radical design-driven processes. For example, in terms of scanning the
environment for information on socio-cultural trends, seeking out new and different ideas in various fields,
and making connections between different disciplines.
I am an effective communicator, with two publications, so far. I enjoy learning and applying new skills
such as social media, through Social Media Means Business, which I put to good use in my work.
My experience ranges from initiating to implementing and evaluating projects, involving various
stakeholders from employees and volunteers to service providers and users through which I have gained a
very good understanding of the business processes.
My approach to problem solving is to identify the problem first, hence my focus on research.
PLANS AND OBJECTIVES FOR FUTURE CAREER
My chief interest is in how corporate social responsibility can be a driver for micro entrepreneurship and
interculturalism.
I am currently sourcing resources to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Dublin 15 Community
Interpreting and Translation Service and support the development of an aftercare service. This may include
creating modules for teaching/learning the practice of community interpreting, seeking accreditation for
those and other modules for continuous professional development.
On completion of this project, I would like to further develop my research skill through consulting on new
projects. I would also be interested in working on project evaluations.
Ultimately, I would like the opportunity to register for a funded PhD or scholarship possibly in the area of
corporate social responsibility and its role in intercultural entrepreneurship.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
Environment representative on the South Dublin County Council, Strategic Policy Committee for the
environment.
Participated in Service Civil International work camps in Romania, Russia, Finland and Greece.
