In addition to my formal qualifications, I also have very good analytical and problem solving skills. I am commercially astute, and I enjoy the challenge of working in cross functional teams. I thoroughly enjoyed my role as Project Accountant for ESB International on the Derrybrien Wind Farm project. I was a senior member of the project team, reporting to the Project Manager. I worked alongside the lead Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Engineers to ensure the project was delivered on time and to budget. Achievement and participation are very important to me as a person. I like to work in a collaborative environment, and I enjoy sharing knowledge and key insights with my fellow team members. During my time with DHL, I worked closely with the Operations Director on a number of key commercial issues. These issues ranged from the renegotiation of warehouse leases with strategically important customers, to a design & build project to replace a mezzanine structure in a live warehouse environment. The Business Innovation Programme has allowed me to develop my creative skillset, and I am now much more adept at qualitative reasoning and research, than heretofore. PLANS AND OBJECTIVES FOR FUTURE CAREER Over the past number of months as a participant on the D.C.U. Ryan Academy, Business Innovation Programme, I have become keenly aware of the need to consider a new career path. For my future career I would like to make more effective use of my Project Management and Systems Development skills. Coupled with this I would like to put into practice the knowledge of innovation practice that I developed through my participation on the Business Innovation Programme. In terms of a working environment, I would like to work in a project orientated organisation, preferably in a cross functional team. I would prefer to work in a small to medium sized organisation with some opportunities for business travel abroad. I have a preference for a challenging role which affords the opportunity to continuously develop and refine my skillset. Finally, being able to identify tangible achievements from projects I am involved with is an important consideration for me. PERSONAL INTERESTS The personal interest that is most relevant to my job skills is my membership of Toastmasters International. In November 2011, I achieved the Advanced Communicator Bronze Award, after completing the speeches by management and specialty occasion speeches manuals. I am currently working towards achieving the Competent Leadership Award, which places particular emphasis on developing soft skills in areas such as critical thinking, facilitation, motivation, mentoring, and team building.
