7.2 Graphic-Mode POS Device<br />

You can integrate a graphic-mode POS device to the GV-<strong>System</strong>. The transaction data is directly<br />

transferred to the GV-<strong>System</strong> via a RS-232 serial cable or TCP/IP connection.<br />

Before You Start<br />

Before you start, note the specifications below for the integration:<br />

• This integration only supports the Windows-based POS device.<br />

• An appropriate dongle is required for the integration to work.<br />

• For serial port connection, up to 4 POS devices can be connected to one GV-<strong>System</strong>. For TCP/IP<br />

connection, up to 16 POS devices can be connected to one GV-<strong>System</strong>.<br />

7.2.1 Serial Port Connection<br />

To attach the graphic-mode POS device, with the Windows operating system <strong>and</strong> serial output, to<br />

GV-<strong>System</strong>, follow these steps:<br />

1. Connect the POS device as illustrated below.<br />

2. Insert the <strong>Surveillance</strong> <strong>System</strong> Software DVD to the POS device. It runs automatically, <strong>and</strong> a<br />

window appears.<br />

3. Click Install V 8.4.0.0 <strong>System</strong>.<br />

4. Select Software POS Driver (Only for Graphic mode POS <strong>System</strong>), <strong>and</strong> follow on-screen<br />

instructions to complete the installation.
