Do conxunto <strong>de</strong> cuestións postas sobre o tapete polo profesor Santana interesáronme, en primeiro lugar, as<br />
que se refiren ao patrimonio i<strong>de</strong>ntitario en relación co turismo. Enten<strong>do</strong> que a consi<strong>de</strong>ración que fai sobre o<br />
patrimonio como algo que non se po<strong>de</strong> herdar <strong>de</strong> maneira incólume, ou a arbitrarieda<strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong> separar o<br />
patrimonio tanxible <strong>do</strong> intanxible, están, en liñas xerais, axeitadamente presentadas. Pero xa me resulta un<br />
pouco máis difícil <strong>de</strong> aceptar, como me parece que lle <strong>de</strong>be pasar a el mesmo, que se creen uns referentes<br />
patrimoniais e i<strong>de</strong>ntitarios soamente para o turismo. Posiblemente iso é certo ás veces, e a esta cuestión<br />
alu<strong>de</strong> a frase que utilicei para encabezar este comentario, <strong>de</strong> que os indios (<strong>do</strong>s EEUU) só poñen as plumas<br />
para os turistas, a cal foi dita por un profesor universitario meu hai moitos anos. Con to<strong>do</strong>, noutras ocasións a<br />
realida<strong>de</strong> non é tan así, pois eses mesmos indios tamén po<strong>de</strong>n poñelas para reafirmar a súa i<strong>de</strong>ntida<strong>de</strong><br />
simbólica fronte á macro-socieda<strong>de</strong> na que se viron asolaga<strong>do</strong>s por imperativos históricos alleos á vonta<strong>de</strong><br />
<strong>do</strong>s seus antergos (os seus encontros en Woun<strong>de</strong>d Knee así semellan indicalo). Unha cousa non ten por que<br />
ser incompatible coa outra, aínda que se poidan producir excesos nun e noutro senti<strong>do</strong> que <strong>de</strong>ben ser<br />
combati<strong>do</strong>s por medio da crítica, e tamén, se é necesario, por unha normativa que trate <strong>de</strong> atallar os usos<br />
in<strong>de</strong>bi<strong>do</strong>s <strong>do</strong> patrimonio natural e cultural. É evi<strong>de</strong>nte que a interpretación dada a uns mesmos referentes é<br />
distinta can<strong>do</strong> se trata dun anfitrión ou dun turista, pero iso non é algo alleo ao propio concepto <strong>de</strong> “referente<br />
<strong>de</strong> i<strong>de</strong>ntida<strong>de</strong>”, pois os mesmos nativos a<strong>do</strong>itan ter distintas valoracións persoais, ou sectoriais, sobre eles.<br />
Tampouco é algo in<strong>de</strong>sexable per se que eses referentes sexan someti<strong>do</strong>s a manipulacións que os convertan<br />
nunha forma “esteticamente correcta e suficientemente accesible”, pois eses procesos <strong>de</strong> adaptación a novas<br />
circunstancias, ou a novas apetencias, é algo consubstancial con to<strong>do</strong> proceso <strong>de</strong> apropiación <strong>do</strong> patrimonio<br />
herda<strong>do</strong> (sobre isto xa dixen algo no comentario ao relatorio <strong>de</strong> Llorenç Prats).<br />
En <strong>de</strong>finitiva, os distintos pobos, ou comunida<strong>de</strong>s locais, teñen perfecto <strong>de</strong>reito a “ven<strong>de</strong>r” unha imaxe súa,<br />
e neste senti<strong>do</strong> consi<strong>de</strong>ro axeitada a afirmación xenérica <strong>de</strong> que “to<strong>do</strong> patrimonio es socialmente<br />
manufactura<strong>do</strong> y todas las tradiciones son potencialmente consumibles”. Pero, para facelas razoablemente<br />
operativas e evitar os efectos <strong>de</strong>strutivos dun uso indiscrimina<strong>do</strong>, é necesario crear un marco restritivo <strong>de</strong><br />
actuación (limitacións <strong>de</strong> acceso, e <strong>de</strong> uso, en certos lugares, control <strong>de</strong> calida<strong>de</strong> e <strong>de</strong> orixe <strong>do</strong>s produtos
