oooooOnly cheerleaders are permitted on the sidelines or playing surface for the purpose ofleading cheers or promoting school spirit. No fan or spectator is permitted out of thestands for this purpose. Students are permitted to form spirit lines on the footballfield as the players enter onto the field before the game.Sirens, whistles, portable stereos, and other noisemakers that interfere with the gameare prohibited. No hand-held banners or hand-held signs of any type shall be displayed.The game manager will confiscate such articles.Abusive language, negative gestures, or taunting directed toward players, coaches,officials, or cheerleaders is prohibited.The throwing of paper or foreign objects onto the playing surface is prohibited.Offenders of the Spectator Behavior policies will be escorted from thegym/stadium.• Assault On a Sports OfficialAccording to the Pennsylvania Statutes, any person who assaults a sports official during asports event or as a result of his/her official acts as a sports official, is guilty of a firstdegree misdemeanor. A "sports official" is any person at a sports event who enforces therules of the event, such as an umpire or referee, or a person who supervises theparticipants, such as a coach. The term includes a trainer, team attendant, game manager,athletic director, assistant athletic director, principal, assistant principal, or other schooladministrator.IV. GENERAL INFORMATIONA. ASSEMBLY PROCEDUREAssemblies are planned programs provided for education and entertainment. LHS has two typesof assemblies:1. Formal Assemblies - Assemblies conducted in the auditorium• Students will be directed to an assembly from class by announcement over the PA system.• Students will sit in their assigned seat with their respective (flex) teacher.• Appropriate behavior is always expected of an LHS student. The general rule is to bequiet and polite during serious presentations and to be spirited and involved in humorouspresentations. Students should show proper appreciation and respect for the efforts ofpresenters. Food, backpacks, and large book bags are prohibited.2. Informal Assemblies - Pep assemblies conducted in the gymnasium• Students will be directed to the gym from class by announcement over the PA system.• Students are to sit in the sections designated for their grade level.• Student behavior should be highly spirited and extremely supportive of LHS.B. CANCELLATION OR DELAY OF SCHOOLStudents are urged to listen to local radio stations or television stations for informationconcerning the closing of school. Notice of closure will be by 6:30 a.m., except in instances oflate developing storms.15
