Los salvadoreños somos, anímicamente, seres en tránsito, y por eso de seguro ha sido tan difícil afincar nuestra identidad, construir
esquemas de vida arraigados en lo propio y gozar los beneficios del sentido de permanencia. La periódica convulsión de los volcanes
y la inestable condición del sustrato tectónico grafican con puntual elocuencia que vivimos en el filo de la inminencia, con todo lo que
eso acarrea de inseguridad existencial. Pero hoy, en los albores de esta era de mundialización emergente y expansiva, la lógica de las
migraciones ha cambiado de brújula, y los efectos de dicho cambio los estamos viendo en el día a día. En el pasado, los emigrantes iban a
desaparecer en su lugar de destino; hoy, van a emerger como sujetos de destino. Es un giro histórico que nos pone en otro nivel de realidad.

Emotionally speaking, Salvadorans are beings in transit, and because of this it has been so difficult to settle our identity and build life
schemes rooted on the “own”, in order to enjoy the benefits of a sentiment of belonging. The periodic convulsion of the volcanoes and the
unstable condition of the underlying tectonic layer graph with eloquent promptness that we live on the edge of imminence, with all that
this carries in existential insecurity. But today, in the dawn of this era of emerging and expanding globalization, the logic of the migrations
has changed the direction and the effects of such a change we now live in the day to day. In the past the emigrants disappeared in their
place of destination; today they emerge as subjects of destiny. It is a historical turnaround that puts us in a different level of reality.
