El casco de la antigua hacienda Montecristo está en la lista del<br />
Patrimonio Cultural de la nación, fue construido en 1783 y desde allí<br />
se administró el cultivo de añil y la explotación del hierro de la zona<br />
durante la época colonial.<br />
Actualmente, un centro de interpretación opera en el casco para<br />
facilitar el máximo aprovechamiento de la visita y para que el visitante<br />
pueda conocer algunas de las características de las especies de flora y<br />
fauna que habitan en la reserva, así como apreciar diferentes objetos<br />
antiguos utilizados en la hacienda.<br />
The headquarters of Montecristo, built in 1783, are considered as National<br />
Cultural Heritage. From this former hacienda all the production of indigo<br />
and iron explotation of the zone was controlled during the colonial times.<br />
Currently, an interpretation center is operating in these headquarters<br />
designed to help the visitor learn more details of the characteristics of the<br />
wild flora and fauna in the area as well as apreciate the different antique<br />
objects used in the hacienda.<br />
