Only a 15-minute drive from<br />
Bujumbura, Rusizi National Park is<br />
one of Burundi’s premier tourist<br />
attractions. This beautiful protected<br />
area surrounds the Rusizi river and its<br />
delta, and is home to a wealth of<br />
wildlife. As well as over 2,000 bird<br />
species, the park is home to antelope,<br />
hippos and crocodiles.<br />
WHERE TO LEARN<br />
The drums of Burundi are its<br />
country’s pride, and any chance to see<br />
a performance should be jumped at. If<br />
you feel inspired by the music, then<br />
for a small fee you can join in at Saga<br />
Plage on Sundays. If you’re not sure<br />
whether you’re up to the challenge of<br />
the drums, then why not take the<br />
chance to learn Kiswahili or French<br />
while in Bujumbura? The Centre<br />
Culturel Français (Chaussée Prince<br />
Louis Rwagasore) offers lessons in<br />
both, as well as an extensive<br />

Bujumbura, le Parc National de la<br />
Rusizi est l’une des premières<br />
attractions touristiques du Burundi.<br />
Cette magnifique zone protégée,<br />
traversée par le fleuve Rusizi et son<br />
delta, abrite une riche faune et flore.<br />
Aux quelque 2 000 espèces d’oiseaux<br />
que compte le parc viennent s’ajouter<br />
les antilopes, les hippopotames et<br />
autres crocodiles.<br />
