☛ GETTING AROUND
Taxis from Entebbe Airport to
downtown Kampala charge around
UGX 85,000 (€30) for the 40km
journey, which can take up to an hour
in heavy traffic. The best way to get
around the city is by metered taxi
(BluCruise, tel. (0)414 574898) or
motorcycle taxis called boda bodas
(ensure you wear a helmet).
☛ EAT OUT
For a menu of mouthwatering Indian
dishes D’mellos (10-12 Nakasero
Lane, Lumumba Avenue, tel. (0)414
237183) should hit the spot. Every
Friday there’s a live band to entertain
you while you dine. If you’re sticking
to a budget and after some local
flavour, Centenary Park (along Jinja
Road, opposite the Electoral
Commission) has a great selection of
restaurants with good, cheap food.
☛ NIGHTLIFE
If you want to dance the night away,
along with the capital’s well-heeled,
Club Knight Riders (93 Kampala
Road, Entebbe), which has its own VIP
wing, is a popular place to hang out.
For a more low-key night out, Punchline
Bar & Restaurant (Ggaba Road,
Kabalagala) has a line-up of local artists.
WHERE TO LEARN
Stop for coffee at Café Ballet (34c
Kyandondo Road, Nakasero), followed
by a dance class in the adjacent
Kampala Ballet and Modern Dance
School. But if you prefer to observe
rather than join in, feast on Caribbean
cuisine and continental dishes in the
pretty gardens of the café. For
concerts, music workshops, classes
and recitals, the Kampala Music School
(YMCA, Wandegeya Road, tel. (0)414
233215) is a one-stop shop.

De l’aéroport d’Entebbe vers le centre

Ggaba, Kabalagala) où se produisent
de très bons artistes locaux.
FORMATIONS
Les plus souples d’entre vous
apprécieront un lunch au Café Ballet

moderne de Kampala. Mais si vous
