(fig.5a). ROOFS/TERRACES On roofs and terraces horizontal anchor lines, type EN 795 (fixed or temporary), can be used so that the user can move over all the roof/terrace length. To allow such movement over the entire area, a fall arrest system connected to a horizontal anchor line must be used. C.A.M.P. has two possibilities available: - Semi-static cable with a fall arrest device (fig.5a). - Retractable fall arrest device combined with a lanyard and additional absorber (certified system for a fall over the sharp edge of a roof/terrace) (fig.6a). Near the side edges of the roof/terrace too there is a risk of a fall, so either the fall arrest lanyard must be made fast (fig.5b), or the retractable fall arrester must be associated with a second anchor line for connection through a lanyard with energy absorber (fig.6b). On very steep roofs we can use an adjustable positioning lanyard to allow the operator to keep the device under tension (fig.7a). The adjustable lanyard has no fall arrest function, so we should use the restraint technique (positioning lanyard of length such as to prevent the operator from reaching the roof edges) (fig.7b) or allow for collective protection (barriers) at the roof edges (fig.7c). If a fall risk still persists, it is essential to associate a fall arrest device with the positioning lanyard (fig.7d). (fig.5a).
