Speaker settings pageSETUPSPEAKER SETTINGSMAIN: LARGECENTER: LARGESURROUND : LARGESUBWOOFER : ONSUBWOOFER STEREO : ONDO NOT SAVE AND EXITSAVE AND EXITThe size and number of loudspeakers are defi ned on this pageof the OSD.– A ‘LARGE’ speaker is one that is capable of handling a fullrange signal (i.e. 20Hz–20kHz).– A ‘SMALL’ speaker is one that is not capable ofreproducing a deep bass signal (i.e. below 100Hz), forexample a satellite speaker.– ‘ON’ is used when a speaker is present and active andreceives the intended audio information.– ‘OFF’ is used when a speaker is absent or inactive. Audiosignals intended for speakers set to OFF are redirected tothe main speakers.1 INPUT SETTINGS2 CHANNEL BALANCE3 CHANNEL DELAYS4 SPEAKER SETTINGS5 EXITEnglishRecommended speaker settings for different systemsTo confi gure a ‘Sub/Sat’ system (i.e. a set of small speakerswith a subwoofer), your speaker settings should be ‘SMALL’ forall speakers, with Subwoofer turned ‘ON’.Some small but high performance speakers are capable ofhandling a signal below 100Hz: in this instance, set them to‘LARGE’ (despite their small physical size). If in doubt, pleasecheck the specifi cations in your speaker’s handbook or ask yourdealer.If you don’t have a centre speaker, set CENTER to ‘OFF’. Thisdirects the centre speaker information to the front left and rightspeakers, ensuring that dialogue is clearly reproduced.The SUBWOOFER STEREO setting is only relevant for musicreproduction and does not affect <strong>sound</strong> reproduction for movies.If you have small speakers on the front, set SUBWOOFERSTEREO to ‘ON’ to give the extra bass reinforcement requiredfor music. If your front speakers are large, or of high quality andperformance, you may fi nd music is reproduced more accuratelywith the Subwoofer turned ‘OFF’.<strong>AVR200</strong>11
