SORTIR DE PARIS
a ses secrets
ruraux que citadin a toujours
à cœur découvrir. La Ferme
du Buisson, autrefois lieu
d’innovation agricole et
industrielle, s’est transformée,
L’Île-de-France
ESSENTIAL ART OUTSIDE THE CAPITAL
The Paris region has rural secrets the city dweller is
always determined to discover. The Ferme du
Buisson, which used to be known for its agricultural
and industrial innovation, was transformed in 1990
into a site for contemporary creation, where the
visual arts rub shoulders with the plastic arts.
However, the end of year exhibition, Alfred Jarry
Archipelago: La Valse des Pantins - Acte II, subtly
transgresses this credo because it revisits the work
of an “old master” from the viewpoint of current
artists. In other words, it shows how the theatre of
Alfred Jarry (1873-1907), thanks to his tremendous
Ubu Roi, has influenced a huge section of
contemporary artistic performance. We could have
detected many performers inspired by Jarry’s
dramaturgy in the new permanent collection
inaugurated by the MacVal (in Vitry) to celebrate its
10 th anniversary. But the exhibition event that has
