Sono dunque le mani <strong>di</strong> provetti artigiani a trasformare l’idea<br />
originaria del designer in tante “creature” favolose, ornate <strong>di</strong> fiori,<br />
fregi, rilievi e intarsi, simili a trine leggere così da sembrare come<br />
sospese nel sogno e imprigionate nelle maglie del desiderio.<br />
Oggetto del desiderio esse stesse per donne dei nostri giorni.<br />
E non è un caso forse che il laboratorio <strong>di</strong> Sabrina si affacci sulle<br />
sponde del lago Trasimeno, quasi a guar<strong>di</strong>a della tra<strong>di</strong>zione<br />
- sia pure ampiamente rinnovata con meto<strong>di</strong> e scopi <strong>di</strong>versi<br />
ed una gamma <strong>di</strong> <strong>di</strong>fferenti materiali - legata a quella tecnica<br />
dei pizzi d’Irlanda e dei merletti lavorati a tombolo, introdotta<br />
dalla marchesa Guglielmi nello scorcio del secolo XIX tra le<br />
donne dell’isola Maggiore e che si perpetua ancora adesso.<br />

Expert artisan hands thus transform Sabrina’s original ideas into<br />
wonderful compositions, decorated with flowers, embossments,<br />
inlays and ephemeral laces, all of which speak of desire to<br />
a modern-day woman.<br />
Sabrina’s workshop overlooks the shores of Lake Trasimeno<br />
and safeguards the Irish lace artistry introduced in the 19 th century<br />
by the Marchioness Isabella Guglielmi. This ancient art has been<br />
passed down through generations and is still performed today<br />
by the women who live on the lake’s main island.<br />
