MONTE FAUDO MARATHON<br />
It is a 23 Km. long marathon at international level which takes place<br />
every year in June, starting from Imperia and en<strong>di</strong>ng at Monte Faudo.<br />
Among the participants, it is worth mentioning a <strong>Dolcedo</strong> athlete, Lorenzo<br />
Trincheri.<br />
FOOTBALL LEAGUE<br />
Played from September to June. The matches of the home team are<br />
held every other Sunday at the local football ground.<br />
“BALUN” LEAGUE<br />
The “Balun” is <strong>Dolcedo</strong> tra<strong>di</strong>tional sport, played in the Spring-Summer<br />
period. Recently a new ground has been built, which hosts the games<br />
of the Conad Imperia team, taking part to the Italian Premier League.<br />
The crowd capacity is 2000.<br />

FAMOUS ATHLETES<br />
The most famous <strong>Dolcedo</strong><br />
athlete is Giuseppe<br />
Perletto, a professional<br />
cyclist who, in the<br />
seventies, was member of<br />
famous teams like<br />
Sammontana, Magniflex, S.<br />
Giacomo. He counts 60<br />
victories as nonprofessional<br />
and 9 as<br />
professional cyclist and<br />
during his career had the<br />
privilege to precede people<br />
like Ed<strong>di</strong>e Merckx and<br />
Felice Gimon<strong>di</strong>. His best<br />
result can be considered<br />
the fifth place obtained at<br />
the Giro díItalia in 1975.
