RESUMENEsta disertación presenta el ecoturismo como una herramienta para la conservaciónambiental y cultural, así como alternativa económica para contribuir al establecimiento de unmodelo de desarrollo sostenible para el Brasil y Perú. Se analiza la evolución contemporáneadel ecoturismo, como importante componente del mercado del turismo, en estos países. Sediscuten las experiencias brasileñas de capacitación informal para el ecoturismo, y se analizala magnitud y alcance de la enseñanza formal en turismo y ecoturismo en los dos países. Sedestaca la importancia de la capacitación de la comunidad anfitriona, en las localidadesreceptoras del ecoturismo, como forma de posibilitar su inclusión y participación efectiva eneste proceso de desarrollo. Finalmente se realiza una análisis comparativa del estado actualdel desarrollo del ecoturismo en los dos países.PALABRAS LLAVE: ecoturismo, desarrollo sostenible, Brasil, Perú.
ABSTRACTThis document presents ecotourism as a tool for the conservation of environmental andcultural heritage and as one of the economical alternatives to contribute as a model ofsustainable development for Brazil and Peru. It analyses the contemporary evolution ofecotourism as a segment of the tourism in both countries. Brazilian experiences in non-formaltraining are discussed, as well as the amount and types of courses embraced by the formaleducation in tourism and ecotourism in these countries is also analyzed. The importance oftraining and education of host communities as a way to enable their effective participation inthis process of development is emphasized. Complementarily is presented a comparativeanalysis of the stage of development of ecotourism in both countries at this moment.KEY-WORDS: ecotourism, sustainable development, Brazil, Peru.
