The Day – California, 2002, 1:53 a.m, bridge
— I dare you to jump of the bridge!
— What?! I’m not doing that!- Julia yelled back. – What if I die?
— You’re not going to die. – Alex laughed. He got closer to Julia.
In a moment the girl was partying with her friends, in the other one
she was falling off the bridge.
1 Day After – 2:43 p.m, police department
— So, where were you yesterday when Julia died? – the detective
asked.
— I was with her. We were playing truth or dare, I think. I can’t
remember very well, I was completely high. – Alex answered. Even though he tried,
he couldn’t remember a thing that had happened that night.
— Do you remember if someone dared Julia to jump?
— I don’t think so. She jumped on her own.
— Are you saying it was suicide?
— Maybe yes, maybe no. Who knows? She probably knew she would
die if she jumped.
— Where you her friend?
— I was.
The detective got his conclusions. it was clearly suicide, no need to
investigate more.
— Enough. You can go now.- the detective pointed at the exit door.
2 Days After- 10:20 a.m, Mrs. Kate’s house
— It’s impossible! My daughter didn’t commit suicide! She’d never
do that! – Julia’s mother yelled.
— I’m sorry Mrs. Kate.- the detective answered.
The woman could not accept what the detective was saying. Why
would her daughter kill herself? She had a perfect life!
— I’m hiring another detective.
— There’s no need for that lady...
— Out of my house!- Kate yelled. She had made her decision.
3 Days After- 4:32p.m, hospital
— I want to see Julia’s body.
— Who are you?- the receptionist asked.
— I’m Jake, Mrs. Kate’s new detective.
— I have to see your document.
— As you wish.
A few minutes later the tall blond detective was inside a big room
full of metal cages.
