Change in the color of paper, usually due to the
degradation processes of lignin and cellulose by
oxidation, hydrolysis and photochemical reactions.

Note: Although yellowing is usually considered damage, sometimes it can be
taken as a historical sign and a characteristic of the natural ageing of paper.
