7.3 Clear responsibility
There is a clear responsibility for parts of the information and
communication activities, for instance the study visits. But generally
speaking, it seems that until recently, roles and responsibilities were not as
clear as they should be.
7.4 Handling of critical success factors, threats and possibilities
It appears that the above-mentioned problems with the information and
communication activities have been recognized by Örebro University; as a
result from this, there is now a central function/resource to assist with
information and communication activities. It is too early to judge the exact
effects of this, but from the comments at the review meeting it is evident
that AASS staff is extremely positive about this. This is a very promising
development.
7.5 Review panel’s reflection
Whilst AASS still scores “good” in this area, Information &
Communication has been a relatively weak area when compared to many
other criteria on which AASS scores “very good” to “excellent”. This is
probably due to the initial lack of a centralised resource in the form of
information & communication specialists; good information &
communication requires a combination of these and subject matter
specialists (researchers and lecturers). AASS has done well in the light of
the initial lack of such a centralised resource for this area. Now that there is
this resource, we expect that the visibility of AASS as a leading robotics
research centre will increase significantly in the near future. AASS staff is
very positive about this recent development and so are we.
