While laughing, brushing teeth, sometimes
drinking water, and sometimes touching
the face, that is, even when routine habits
is being done, the pain can start and put
a dampener on the patient’s life. In the
public, trigeminal neuralgia, which is
known as “The Disease that drives you
insane” since it causes severe pain, the
people who are experiencing this problem
may think that the problem is coming
from the mouth, and even cause them
to be pulled out their teeth accordingly.

Trigeminal neuralgia is a disease characterized by severe
pain that significantly reduces the quality of life of the
patient. It can be triggered even while drinking water or
sometimes brushing teeth. Generally, in such patients, it
is seen that the teeth in the area are treated or root canal
therapy applied where the pain is experienced are treated
and even tooth extraction has been done. This situation
leads to unnecessary and incorrect treatments to the
patient’s healthy teeth and also delays the diagnosis of
trigeminal neuralgia. However, if the patient goes to a
specialist, a diagnosis is made immediately.

Trigeminal neuralgia is a problem caused by an unknown
cause of the facial nerve called trigeminal nerve which
carries the facial sensations to the brain. There are three
branches of the trigeminal nerve. One of these branches
goes around to the eye, one towards the cheek and the
