There’s a lot we hear about cancer. But<br />
which of these are really true? Istanbul Okan<br />

Dr Metin Güden who has<br />
explained that Cancer is<br />
one of the oldest diseases<br />
of humanity. It starts<br />
with an uncontrolled<br />
proliferation of a cell. As it<br />
grows, it bounces into other<br />
fields like scattered seeds,<br />
and creates new colonies<br />
and disrupts the function of<br />
tissues and organs. If this<br />
growth cannot be stopped,<br />
it causes death of the<br />
creature. There are over<br />
200 varieties. Each living<br />
tissue can be cancer. For<br />
the formation of cancer,<br />
some special areas of the<br />
DNA which is considered<br />
to be the brain of the<br />
cell, must be damaged.<br />
If the mechanisms that<br />
determine when the cell<br />
will multiply or when<br />
proliferation stops, are being damaged, it certainly means<br />
that the cell’s unwanted cancerisation process has begun,<br />
told about the curious points of the cancer.<br />
If the mankind had not smoked until now, the<br />
incidence of cancer would be reduced by 70 percent<br />
In the process of cancerization, the system can be<br />
disrupted by itself and is often being affected by external<br />
factors as well. Cigarettes come first. Today, smoking is<br />
responsible for the seventy-one percent of existing cancer.<br />

kontrolsüz çoğalması<br />
ile başlar. Büyüdükçe<br />

tohum gibi başka<br />
organlarda sıçrar,<br />
buralarda yeni koloniler<br />

organ fonksiyonunu<br />
bozar. Bu büyüme<br />
durdurulamazsa canlının ölümüne sebep olur. 200’ün<br />
üzerinde çeşidi vardır. Her bir canlı doku, kanser<br />
olabilir. Kanserin oluşması için, hücrenin beyni sayılan<br />
DNA’sındaki bazı özel bölgelerinin hasarlanması gerekir.<br />
Hücrenin ne zaman çoğalacağına veya çoğalmanın ne<br />
zaman duracağına karar veren mekanizmalar bozulursa,<br />
hücrenin istenmeyen kanserleşme süreci başlamış<br />
demektir” diyen Radyasyon Onkolojisi Uzmanı Prof. Dr.<br />
