The Philosophicum <strong>Lech</strong><br />
every year since 1997 this interdisciplinary meeting<br />
has been gathering a great number of international<br />
participants around the arlberg and has<br />
thus been giving the mountain village <strong>Lech</strong> and<br />
the entire three-border region important cultural<br />
impulses. This is proven by the presence of highprofile<br />
speakers such as Rudolf Burger, Robert<br />
Menasse, Rüdiger Safranski or peter Sloterdijk<br />
as well as great interest from media and public<br />
alike. Within the framework of the symposium<br />
the 25,000 euro prize ‘Tractatus’ is awarded<br />
for understandable philosophical essays. <strong>No</strong>w<br />
between September 25 and 29, philosophicum,<br />
which was initiated by Mayor Ludwig Muxel<br />
and author Michael Köhlmaier, will take place<br />
for the 17th time.<br />
