Fully automatic lift-base kiln shuttle concept and
multi-functional handling unit for loading and
unloading of kiln cars
Eisenmann presented a fully automatic lift-base system especially
for technical ceramics and a MultiShuttle for glost firing
of porcelain.

Je nach Kundenwunsch und Produktionsanforderung können
die Öfen unterschiedliche Dimensionen und Designformen
aufweisen: Single-, aber auch beispielsweise Twin-Modelle in
doppelter Größe und mit zwei Bodenöffnungen. Auch die
Brenntechnologien der einzelnen Aggregate können sich
unterscheiden:
n integrierte oder mit separater Entbinderung plus angeschlossener
Thermischer Nachverbrennung (TNV)
n elektrische oder Gasbeheizung
n Betrieb in definierter Atmosphäre
n Betrieb mit TurboFiring
Alle Hubbodenofen-Modelle basieren auf dem gleichen Konstruktionsprinzip:
auf multiplen, bereits vormontierten Einzelmodulen,
die komplett mit Ventilatoren, Elektroinstallation
und Heizelementen am Einbauort eintreffen. Die Monteure
stellen lediglich die Schnittstellen zum Schaltschrank und zu
den Heizmedien her.
Das modulare Anlagenkonzept ist besonders für Kunden mit
kleinen oder mittleren Bauteilgrößen, stark schwankenden
Chargenmengen und häufig variierenden Brennprozessen
geeignet. Das Konzept lässt sich sukzessive
ausbauen: Die Brennlinie kann bei einer
Produktionserweiterung ohne großen Aufwand
bis zur maximalen Ausbaustufe von
zehn Öfen erweitert werden.
Lift-base kiln system
The system consists of up to ten modular lift-base kilns which
are served by a robot-like shuttle car. The intermittent kilns
are loaded from below and can be integrated by the newly
developed concept fully automatically into upstream and
downstream continuous production areas.
The handling shuttle with its intelligent controls is very versatile.
The shuttle riding on a rail system suspended under the
row of lift-base kilns forms the intersection between the firing
process and the peripheral material loading and unloading
station. The suspended automatic handling unit removes
stacks of green ware from the store, travels to the kiln and
transfers them onto the lowered kiln base plate. The entire
process is fully automatic, like the raising of the base element
to seal the kiln which is anchored on a steel platform. The
reverse process begins as soon as the kiln releases the fired
ware. The loading robot, which has filled and unloaded
neighbouring kilns in the meantime, rolls into position and
unlatches the kiln base which then drops down immediately.
After this signal the arm of the handling shuttle grips the
stack without any further command input and transports it
back to the finished product store on the kiln periphery. The
handling system then carries out a new loading and unloading
cycle.
Depending on customers’ wishes and production requirements,
the kilns can be configured with different dimensions
and design forms: single or for example twin models in double
size and with two base openings. The firing technologies
of the individual units can also vary:
n integrated or with separate removal of organic binders plus
connected thermal afterburning
n electric or gas heating
n operation in defined atmosphere
n operation with TurboFiring
All lift-base kiln models are based on the same construction
principle: multiple, pre-assembled individual modules which
arrive on site complete with ventilators, electrical installations
and heating elements. The fitters merely set up the interfaces
to the switch cabinet and the heating media.
