gilt, wenn zwischengelagerte Ware aus dem Puffer wieder in
den fortlaufenden Prozess eingespeist werden muss.
Auf diese effiziente Weise überbrückt das wie ein Roboter
agierende System alle Schnittstellen innerhalb der Brennlinie.
Eine einzige zentrale Bedieneinheit übernimmt vollautomatisch
sämtliche Handling-Funktionen. Das MultiShuttle lässt
sich mit nahezu jedem Ofentyp – vom Tunnel- und Rollenüber
den Schubplatten- bis hin zum Herdwagenofen – kombinieren.
Ein leistungsfähiger Puffer gehört mit zum Konzept
von Eisenmann. Die größten Vorteile der Innovation liegen in
der optimalen Beladung des Ofenwagens. Dessen Aufbau
lässt sich in einem Spektrum von zwei bis sechs Lagen flexibel
an die jeweilige Artikelgeometrie anpassen.

its intelligent controller and the tracking system coupled with
the MultiShuttle, the unit recognizes reliably what product it
is handling and how it needs to handle it.
Even differences arising in the number of layers between the
cars being loaded and unloaded are managed safely. The
handling unit reacts, for example, by making up the missing
layers of kiln furniture from the immediately adjacent store. In
the reverse case the telescope arm of the MultiShuttle places
excess kiln furniture in the intermediate buffer rack. The system
decides by itself whether the ware is passed on directly
to the work stations or into the buffer store. The same applies
when stored ware has to be taken out of the buffer and fed
into the continuous process again.
In this efficient manner the system, acting like a robot,
bridges all the interfaces within the firing line. A single central
operating unit takes over all handling functions fully automatically.
The MultiShuttle can be combined with almost any kiln
type – from tunnel and roller kilns to pusher plate and shuttle
kilns. Eisenmann’s concept includes an efficient buffer. The
main advantages of the innovation lie in the optimum loading
of the kiln car. The furniture system can be adjusted flexibly
to the respective geometry of the article in a spectrum of
two to six layers.
The new system can also be used for applications outside the
porcelain industry. Eisenmann is currently installing a first
MultiShuttle plant for technical ceramics in connection with
the TurboFiring technology.
Engobes for roofing tiles – a new range of
products from Imerys
Imerys Tableware offers a range of engobes (liquid or powder
form) for colouring of roofing tiles under the trade mark
KPCL. The engobes are available for firing temperatures from
940° C to 1200° C for mat and satin finishes in a wide range
of colours. The KPCL engobes are designed to improve the
efficiency of the production process and the quality of the
roofing tiles. They are suitable for all types of substrate and all
