Mit der gleichen Wiederholgenauigkeit zieht der Teleskoparm eine Lage von dem aus dem Ofen kommenden Wagen und verteilt diese weiter – entweder in den Waren- oder Brennhilfsmittel-Puffer oder auf den Plattenumlauf zu einer der nächsten Arbeitsstationen. Das mit einer Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 90 m/min arbeitende Mobil wird über eine Laserwegmessung sicher navigiert. Durch eine intelligente Steuerung und das mit dem Multi- Shuttle gekoppelte Tracking-System erkennt das Mobil zuverlässig, welche Ware es gerade befördert und in welcher Form es diese handhaben muss. Auch auftretende Differenzen in der Anzahl der Lagen zwischen dem zu be- und dem zu entladenden Wagen werden sicher gehandhabt. Das Handling-Gerät reagiert beispielsweise, indem es die fehlenden Lagen an Brennhilfsmitteln aus dem unmittelbar benachbarten Speicher komplettiert. Umgekehrt stellt der Teleskoparm des MultiShuttle überzählige Brennhilfsmittel in das Zwischenpufferregal. The concept allows step-by-step expansion: in the event of a production enlargement, the firing line can be extended without great expenditure up to the maximum development stage of ten kilns. MultiShuttle replaces manual loading and unloading of the kiln cars Independent of the kiln type and cycle, a single loading robot links the firing unit, product store, kiln furniture buffer and work stations with each other. The fully automatic system for loading and unloading of kiln cars is extremely precise. The innovative loading robot transports up to six layers of kiln furniture and glazed ware onto the kiln cars. The integrated kiln furniture centring unit ensures the precise positioning of the firing ware. With the same repeating accuracy, the telescope arm draws a layer from the car leaving the kiln and distributes this further – either to the product or kiln furniture buffer store or onto the plate circuit to one of the next work stations. The handling unit reacts, for example, by making up the missing layers of kiln furniture from the immediately adjacent store. In the reverse case the telescope arm of the MultiShuttle places excess kiln furniture in the intermediate buffer rack. The system decides by itself whether the ware is passed on directly to the work stations or into the buffer store. The same applies when stored ware has to be taken out of the buffer and fed into the continuous process again. In this efficient manner the system, acting like a robot, bridges all the interfaces within the firing line. A single central operating unit takes over all handling functions fully automatically. The MultiShuttle can be combined with almost any kiln type – from tunnel and roller kilns to pusher plate and shuttle kilns. Eisenmann’s concept includes an efficient buffer. The main advantages of the innovation lie in the optimum loading of the kiln car. The furniture system can be adjusted flexibly to the respective geometry of the article in a spectrum of two to six layers. The new system can also be used for applications outside the porcelain industry. Eisenmann is currently installing a first MultiShuttle plant for technical ceramics in connection with the TurboFiring technology.
