“I have noticed that since the start of the new millennium the requirements that technical building
equipment has to meet have become more and more complex. The efficiency of buildings and
properties has become a decisive factor. Shorter construction times on projects of increasing size
and complexity mean that there are new pressures on the installation sector in terms of technology
and time. The options for time-saving installation with reliable installation materials include
press connections for stainless steel, copper and multiplayer pipes, sleeve, clamp and welded
connections for plastic pipes and easy-fit connections for bathroom fittings.
The range of installation systems and components for underfloor and bathroom projects is growing
all the time. And for component transitions there are fire protection and noise protection
measures that have to be integrated. Modern concealed installations combine the pipework for
drainage and flushing, hot and cold water supplies, heating and ventilation connections, and
consumption meters. Time savings in making the necessary connections and the option of prefabricating
fully equipped installation walls result in a more rational approach and completion on
time. The sanitation/HVAC expert can hand over a surface ready for tiling to subsequent trades.
This is particularly beneficial in modernization projects because there is no work to be done
creating the shell of the building.
To integrate the wide variety of products and solutions for building systems installations in projects
and orders there are now powerful software programs to assist planners and tradesmen.
Planning programs provide far more than representations at the simple 2D drawing level. They
now feature virtual, spatial and in some cases even photo-realistic displays, and can handle
everything from bathroom layouts to complete building systems centers. Tradesmen no longer
use computers simply for creating tenders and invoices, they use them to automate their entire
business processes, plan their material schedules, communicate with suppliers and manufacturers
throughout a project.“
