Der integrative Charakterder Tagung äußert sich nicht nur in der umspannenden Vielfaltder vorgestellten Themen, die mit Chemiefasern in Bezug stehen,sondern auch in der Möglichkeit, dort Kollegen aus der ganzenWelt zu treffen. Bereits die Wahl des Ortes war diesbezüglich wohlbedacht, denn es war nicht nur die Textilindustrie in Vorarlberg, dieDornbirn zum Tagungsort der Wahl machte, sondern zur Zeit derpolitischen Spaltung Europas auch die Eröffnung der Möglichkeitder Teilnahme derjenigen Kollegen, die hinter dem „Eisernen Vorhang“auf dem Gebiet der Chemiefasern innovativ tätig waren und,zumindest „in Begleitung“, in das neutrale Österreich reisen durften.Speziell in der heute globalisierten Welt mit neuen überregionalenWirtschaftszentren kommt der Dornbirner Chemiefasertagung nochstärker als bisher eine übergreifende Rolle zu. Die anstehendengesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen speziell im Energiebereichwerden ohne Chemiefasern nicht zu bewältigen sein. Für den Bauvon Windkraftwerken und für die künftige Elektromobilität sind sieunerlässlich. Umso wichtiger wird die Chemiefasertagung in Dornbirnfür unsere Branche in Zukunft werden. Als internationale Kommunikationsebenestellt sie heute konkrete Innovationen im Chemiefaserbereichvor, die schon morgen im Alltag benötigt werden.Dornbirn has become a synonym for the global annual congress ofthe whole Man-made Fibers industry. Not only the great variety ofthose Man-made fibers specific topics presented, but also the possibilityto meet colleagues from all over the world, show the integrativecharacter of this conference. In this regard the choice of the venuewas well-considered. During the political division of Europe therewere two important aspects which made Dornbirn to the ”place tobe”: the existing textile industry in Vorarlberg and the possible participationof those colleagues who were innovative in the field of ManmadeFibers behind the ”Iron Curtain”, as they were allowed travel tothe neutral Austria – at least with an ”accompanying person”.Especially today, within our globalized world including new crossregionaleconomic centers, the Dornbirn conference is assigneda more comprehensive role as before. The upcoming social challengesparticularly in the field of energy cannot be handled withoutthe use of Man-made Fibers, as they are essentially needed whenit comes to building windmills and implementing electric mobility.Therefore the Man-made Fibers congress in Dornbirn will becomeeven more important for our industry in future. As an internationalcommunication platform it already shows concrete innovationsconcerning Man-made Fibers, which already will be neededtomorrow in our everyday life.Die Automobilindustrie arbeitet mit hoher Priorität an der nachhaltigenVerringerung der CO 2-Emissionen der Fahrzeuge. Nebender Entwicklung der Antriebstechnologien steht auch der Einsatzinnovativer Materialien und Werkstoffverbundsysteme im Fokusder Entwicklung, um eine Gewichtsreduktion an den Fahrzeugenunter Beibehaltung des heutigen Sicherheits- und Komfort-Niveauszu erzielen. Bei der Entwicklung und Auswahl der Materialien wirdneben dem Gewicht aber auch eine optimale Auslegung allerEigenschaften im Sinne der Einsatzanforderungen im Fahrzeugsowie den ökologischen und wirtschaftlichen Randbedingungen inder Herstellung notwendig sein.Die 50. Jubiläum!Reducing the CO 2Emission of vehicles sustainably is a highpriority for the automobile industry. The development of drive traintechnologies and also the application of innovative materials andmaterial compound systems are in the focus of development toreduce the weight of vehicles while maintaining today´s safety andcomfort standards. The development and choice of the materialsrequires a reduction of the weight as well as an optimum technicalconstruction of all characteristics in the sense of the applicationrequirements of the vehicle and the ecological and economic basicconditions.Like the preceding events the 50 th Dornbirn Man-made FibersCongress will function as a platform for professional contributionsand discussion. Thus the conference will make a contributiontowards obtaining the multi-layered requirements concerning thedevelopment, the production and the application of products fromchemical fibres.Congratulations on the 50 th anniversary!12 | 50.
