21 Uhr Guck in die Luft<br />
In die Luft gucken lohnt sich in Reykjavík.<br />
Wenn der Himmel im Winter klar<br />
ist, sehe ich sogar von meinem Garten<br />
aus die Nordlichter, und selbst in der<br />
Stadt kann man sie von dunkleren<br />
Stellen aus beobachten. Das entschädigt<br />
allemal für unsere langen Nächte.<br />
17 Uhr Glücksgefühle<br />
Kaffee und Bücher machen mich<br />
glücklich: Der Eymundsson-<br />
Buchladen auf der Skólavörðustígur<br />
bietet beides. Schon die Straße löst in<br />
mir Glücksgefühle aus: Als Kind habe<br />
ich hier viel Zeit bei meiner Großmutter<br />
verbracht. Am Straßenende steht<br />
die Hallgrímskirkja, eine Kirche,<br />
die wunderbar die isländische Natur<br />
widerspiegelt. Sie ist den stufenförmigen<br />
Basalt-Formationen nachempfunden,<br />
die ich so mag, weil sie scheinbar ein<br />
System haben. Auch das etwas teurere,<br />
aber gemütliche Restaurant Kol liegt auf<br />
der Straße. Ich bestelle am liebsten den<br />
Meeresfrüchteteller und mag die sauren<br />
Cocktails wie „The Icelandic Ego“.<br />
5pm Happy vibes<br />
Coffee and books make me happy –<br />
and Eymundsson bookshop on<br />
Skólavörðustígur has both. Even the<br />
street itself makes me feel happy<br />
because I spent a lot of time there at<br />
my grandmother’s as a child. At the<br />
end of it is Hallgrímskirkja, a church<br />
which mirrors Iceland’s nature<br />
superbly. Its structure is based on<br />
the step-like basalt formations that<br />
you see everywhere. I like the way<br />
they seem to follow a system.<br />
Skólavörðustígur is also home to the<br />
slightly expensive yet cosy Kol<br />
restaurant. I like to order a sour<br />
cocktail such as The Icelandic Ego<br />
and a plate of local seafood.<br />
9pm Look to the skies<br />
It’s well worth looking upwards in<br />
Reykjavik. In winter, when the sky is<br />
clear, I can even see the Northern<br />
Lights from my garden. You can also<br />
see them from darker places in the city<br />
itself. That makes up for our long<br />
nights.<br />
