BSI STARTS CLEARING CENTER
Towards a digital future
The Federation of the German Sporting Goods Industry declares 2016 an
economically good sports year. The motto for the future is called Industry 4.0.
In frame of the Olymppia sports disciplines
which are usually not in focus moved into the
spotlight – such as e.g. handball, volleyball or
riding sports. Adidas’ and Puma’s good results
are additionally representative of the positive
results of the BSI’s member companies and the
entire branch. In that sense one was able to be
joyful of a stable member development. By the
end of 2016 the association had 146 members
after all. The BSI especially puts the topics around
sustainability, digitalisation such as new laws’
and regulations’ effects on a national as well as
international level in the centre of attention.
In that sense one especially wants to commit
oneself to the topics of sports and environment as
well as textile production in the Far East in 2017.
The EDI project BSI Sport Clearing Center is an
important topic relevant for the future. Here the
foundations for making the companies fit in the
branch’s digitalisation are created. The, started
under the motto “Sportbranche 4.0”, campaign’s
goal is to make the data exchange between retail
and industry within the sports branch quicker,
and to make the classic sales processes more
effective. Through effective exchange of information
season and space planning can adjusted to
the quickly changing customer needs. “The BSI
#IT‘S GREAT OUT THERE
Sport Clearing Center is an extremely important
investment in the future through which the
entire branch makes profit and which the BSI is
happy to have brought under way in its members
and business partners’ interest”, the project is
commented by the BSI CEO Nicole Espey. In total
one can surmise that the year 2017 will be a good
year with stable revenues for the German sporting
goods branch again. Because when one views
the order situation towards the end of the year it
is shown that the orders are on the previous year’s
level with the predominant majority of almost 65
per cent. AND: A third of questioned businesses
has stocked up on the number of their employees
in 2016. The trend towards new employments
should even continue in 2017.
