Cooperation for Avoiding Dangerous Substances
CADS under the Aegis of the German
Shoe Institute
On the 1st of October 2010,
CADS (Cooperation for Avoiding
Dangerous Substances)
came under the aegis of the
German Shoe Institute (Deutsches
Schuhinstitut or DSI) in
Offenbach. The German Shoe
Institute has taken on the
management and all administrative
tasks associated with
the cooperative endeavour.
In addition, the German Shoe
Institute is also responsible for press and public
relations. Integration of CADS in an independent
institution funded by industry and commerce
has the advantage that the principal
issues of concern to CADS can be communicated
to a wide audience and the media can
be informed in a targeted manner. PFI remains
responsible for the technical and scientific component
of the work.
At the latest CADS general meeting during the Point of
Shoes industry forum at Pirmasens on the 30th of September,
PFI and DSI jointly presented the new structure
and orientation of the CADS cooperative venture at DSI,
which were well received by all the participants present.
CADS has therefore been under the aegis of the German
Shoe Institute (DSI) in Offenbach since the 1st of October.
Chairman of CADS is Michael Tackenberg (Gabor Shoes
AG). As the registered office, DSI has taken on the management
and the administrative tasks of the cooperation.

Seit dem 1. Oktober 2010 ist
CADS (Cooperation for Avoiding
Dangerous Substances)
unter dem Dach des Deutschen
Schuhinstituts (DSI) in
Offenbach angesiedelt. Das
DSI übernimmt die Geschäftsführung
und sämtliche administrativen
Aufgaben der
Kooperation. Darüber hinaus
ist das DSI für die Presse- und
Öffentlichkeits arbeit verantwortlich.
Die Integration von CADS in einer
neutralen, von Industrie und Handel getragenen
Institution wie dem DSI bietet den Vorteil,
die Themenschwerpunkte von CADS einer
breiten Öffentlichkeit zu vermitteln und die
Medien gezielt anzusprechen. Das PFI zeichnet
weiterhin für den technisch-wissenschaftlichen
Teil verantwortlich.
Zur jüngsten CADS-Mitgliederversammlung anlässlich des
Branchenforums Point of Shoes am 30. September in Pirmasens
haben PFI und DSI gemeinsam die neue Struktur
und Ausrichtung von CADS – Cooperation at DSI – vorgestellt,
die bei allen anwesenden Teilnehmern auf positive
Resonanz gestoßen ist. Seit dem 1. Oktober ist CADS
daher unter dem Dach des Deutschen Schuhinstituts (DSI)
in Offenbach angesiedelt. Vorsitzender von CADS ist
Michael Tackenberg (Gabor Shoes AG). In seiner Funktion
als Geschäftsstelle übernimmt das DSI die Geschäftsführung
und die administrativen Aufgaben der Kooperation.
Darüber hinaus ist das DSI für die Presse- und Öffentlich-
