Research Project on Hygiene-compliant
Cleaning of Footwear
Disinfecting Cleaning Process of
Safety Shoes with CO 2
Extensive hygiene measures are necessary
during the production, storage, processing,
transport, and placing on the market of foods
in order to assure product quality and to prevent
exposure of employees and consumers to
potential health hazards. The HACCP concept
(Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points)
requires that all items of workwear be in hygienic
condition. Thus safety footwear worn
in these areas must fulfil both safety-relevant
requirements and the demands of hygiene.
Together with the wfk-Cleaning Technology
Research Institute in Krefeld, PFI has developed
a disinfecting CO 2 cleaning process for safety
footwear which does not impair the relevant
protective functions. The project concludes with
the preparation of a catalogue of requirements
for the production of safety footwear suitable
for such a cleaning process.
Alongside the food industry and the catering sector,
hygiene requirements are also coming increasingly to
the fore in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries
and in health care. In the course of implementation of
international standards and European food hygiene regulations
and directives in national legislation, e.g. through
the Food Hygiene Ordinance (Lebensmittelhygieneverordnung,
LMHV) in Germany, the HACCP concept as well
as demands on personal hygiene and workwear have
become legally binding.
Forschungsprojekt zur hygienegerechten
Schuhreinigung
Desinfizierendes CO 2 -Reinigungsverfahren
für Sicherheitsschuhe
Bei der Herstellung, Lagerung, Verarbeitung
sowie beim Transport und Inverkehrbringen
von Lebensmitteln sind umfangreiche Hygienemaßnahmen
erforderlich, um die Produktqualität
zu sichern und um potentiellen Gesundheitsgefährdungen
von Mitarbeitern und
Verbrauchern vorzubeugen. Gemäß dem HAC-
CP-Konzept (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control
Points) wird eine sachgemäße Hygiene der
gesamten Arbeitsbekleidung gefordert. Daher
müssen auch Sicherheitsschuhe in diesen Bereichen
sowohl sicherheitsrelevante Parameter
als auch hygienische Anforderungen erfüllen.
Gemeinsam mit dem wfk-Forschungsinstitut für
Reinigungstechnologie in Krefeld hat das PFI
ein desinfizierendes CO 2 -Reinigungsverfahren
für Sicherheitsschuhe entwickelt, das die relevanten
Schutzfunktionen nicht beeinträchtigt.
Zu Projektende wird ein Anforderungskatalog
zur Herstellung für Sicherheitsschuhe erarbeitet,
die für ein solches Reinigungsverfahren
geeignet sind.
Neben der Lebensmittelindustrie und der Gastronomie
rücken Hygieneanforderungen auch in der Pharma- und
Kosmetikindustrie sowie im Gesundheitswesen immer
mehr in den Vordergrund. Im Zuge der Umsetzung internationaler
Normen und europäischer Verordnungen und
Richtlinien zur Lebensmittelhygiene in nationales Recht
durch die Lebensmittelhygieneverordnung (LMHV) wurden
u. a. das so genannte HACCP-Konzept sowie Anforderungen
an die Personalhygiene und Arbeitsbekleidung in
Deutschland rechtsverbindlich vorgeschrieben.
