The German College of Shoe
Design and Technology (German
Schuhfachschule or DSF)
was founded in 1927 as a
further education institute of
the German footwear industry.
Today the college is a state
school offering an educational
programme integrated into
that of the Pirmasens public
vocational education schools
(Berufsbildende Schulen Pirmasens,
BBS). As of March 2009
theoretical and practical teaching
takes place on the premises
of ISC Germany. The College offers
a two-year training course
leading to qualification as
“State-certified Technician” in
the areas of footwear engineering
and pattern design.
Students can enrol for a full-time
or a part-time course (in modules).
The programme is free of charge for
students taking the complete course.
The language of instruction is German.
English is a compulsory part of the
programme; other language courses
may be offered in response to demand.

Die Deutsche Schuhfachschule
(DSF) Pirmasens wurde 1927
als Fortbildungsinstitut der
deutschen Schuhindustrie gegründet.
Heute ist die DSF als
staatliche Schule ein Bildungsgang
der öffentlichen Berufsbildenden
Schulen Pirmasens
(BBS). Seit März 2009 findet
der theoretische und praktische
Unterricht in den Räumlichkeiten
des ISC Germany statt. Die
DSF bietet den zweijährigen
Ausbildungsgang „Staatlich
geprüfter Techniker“ beziehungsweise
„Staatlich geprüfte
Technikerin“ der Fachrichtung
Schuhtechnik, und zwar mit der
Möglichkeit zur Spezialisierung
in Modellgestaltung oder Betriebstechnik.
Der Bildungsgang kann in Voll- oder
Teilzeitform (in Modulen) absolviert
werden. Für Schüler des Gesamtbildungsganges
ist der Besuch kostenfrei.
Die Vorlesungen werden in deutscher
Sprache gehalten. Englisch ist Pflichtbestandteil
des Programms, weitere
Fremdsprachenkurse werden auf
Nachfrage angeboten.
