T . Fits <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Pdiff distributions will provide us with an estimate <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

momentum resolution and scale.<br />

The selection criteria used for MS and ID tracks are as follows:<br />

• MS tracks: The motivations for <strong>the</strong>se cuts can be found <strong>in</strong> [8], toge<strong>the</strong>r with<br />

def<strong>in</strong>itions <strong>of</strong> and motivations for ‘mirror’ and ‘shadow’ tracks:<br />

– track fit χ 2 /DoF < 10<br />

– <strong>the</strong> track traverses all 3 muon stations<br />

– <strong>the</strong> track is <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> top half <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> detector<br />

– all MDT hits on <strong>the</strong> track are <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> same sector<br />

– this sector is one <strong>of</strong> sectors 2-8<br />

– <strong>the</strong> track has at least 4, 3, 3 hits <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> MDT BI, BM, BO layers respectively<br />

– it has hits <strong>in</strong> at least 2 RPC φ layers<br />

– track p ≥ 2 GeV/c<br />

– <strong>the</strong>re are no more than 10 segments <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> sector conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> track<br />

– <strong>the</strong> mirror track has all hits <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> same sector after efficiency corrections<br />

– it has at least 4, 3, 3 hits <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> MDT BI, BM, BO layers respectively<br />

– it has hits <strong>in</strong> at least 2 RPC φ layers<br />

– <strong>the</strong> mirror and shadow tracks both confirm <strong>of</strong>fl<strong>in</strong>e <strong>the</strong> RPC trigger algo-<br />

rithm used <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> run
