The Center for Systems Biology at Dresden (CSBD) in Germany announces<br />

the opening of positions in the<br />

ELBE Postdoctor<strong>al</strong> Program<br />

We seek strong candidates, with backgrounds in Cell or Development<strong>al</strong><br />

Biology, Computation<strong>al</strong> Biology, Theor<strong>et</strong>ic<strong>al</strong> Physics, Biophysics, Bioinformatics,<br />

or Computer Science with a strong interest into working in a<br />

cross-disciplinary environment.<br />

The Center provides a vibrant and collaborative research environment<br />

with a strong commitment to the interdisciplinary training and career<br />

development of postdoctor<strong>al</strong> fellows. Successful candidates will benefit<br />

from close collaborations with scientists from the Max Planck Institute<br />

of Molecular Cell Biology and Gen<strong>et</strong>ics (MPI-CBG), the Max Planck Institute<br />

of the Physics of Complex Systems (MPI-PKS) and the Technic<strong>al</strong><br />

University Dresden.<br />

ELBE Postdocs are awarded on a comp<strong>et</strong>itive basis through the postdoctor<strong>al</strong><br />

program of the Center. To foster collaborations, fellows will<br />

usu<strong>al</strong>ly be affiliated with two Princip<strong>al</strong> Investigators working in different<br />

Program in Neuroscience and Behavior<strong>al</strong> Disorders<br />

Duke-NUS Graduate Medic<strong>al</strong> School Singapore<br />

Duke-NUS Graduate Medic<strong>al</strong> School Singapore (Duke-NUS) seeks an<br />

outstanding neuroscientst (MD, PhD, or MD/PhD) with strong leadership<br />

skills to be the next Director of the Program in Neuroscience and<br />

Behavior<strong>al</strong> Disorders. Duke-NUS is a joint venture b<strong>et</strong>ween two leading<br />

universites: the Naton<strong>al</strong> University of Singapore and Duke University. The<br />

Program in Neuroscience and Behavior<strong>al</strong> Disorders, established in 2007,<br />

has an outstanding faculty with expertse in areas including cognitve<br />

neuroscience, development<strong>al</strong> neuroscience and the study of synaptc<br />

circuitry, with strong translaton<strong>al</strong> programs in psychiatric disorders and<br />

neurodegeneraton. The Program has its home in a state-of-the-art facility<br />

adjacent to Singapore Gener<strong>al</strong> Hospit<strong>al</strong>, and maintains strong basic,<br />

translaton<strong>al</strong> and clinic<strong>al</strong> research partnerships throughout Singapore,<br />

partcularly with the Naton<strong>al</strong> Neuroscience Insttute.<br />

The Program Director provides leadership to the program, including<br />

engagement with the broader community in Singapore and with Duke<br />

University; strategic hiring and program development; medic<strong>al</strong> school<br />

and graduate educaton; faculty mentoring; and budg<strong>et</strong>ary and space<br />

planning. The School will provide the new Director with the resources to<br />

support the highest level of research.<br />
