RETAINED BABY TEETH<br />

Normally, the roots of the baby teeth are reabsorbed as the adult teeth take<br />

their place. When this fails to happen, you will see what appears to be a double<br />

set of teeth. Toy breeds, in particular, tend to retain baby teeth as their<br />

adult teeth erupt. The adult teeth are then pushed out of line, producing a<br />

malocclusion or bad bite.
