- Pubis test
Initial posture therapist 1: The therapist stands at the height of the pelvis. At the level of the
pubic symphysis she gives a perpendicular pressure towards the examination couch.
In the second test she puts her hands on the lateral side of the pelvis on the level of the
anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) to direct a from lateral to medial compression.
Initial posture therapist 2: during the second test also at the height of the pelvis. She will give
a vertical pressure on the pubic symphysis in direction of the examination couch.
Starting Position subject: supine on the examination couch, with her feet spread 20cm apart,
resting on the bench.
Execution: The examiner gives a perpendicular pressure downwards (towards the
examination couch) on the pubis.
Deduction: This test is positive if the first test (without compression to the pelvis) local pain is
experienced in the lower back or pelvic region, which is absent when compression is added
to the basin.
4.4.2 Maintaining the results
Of each client the author has an excel spreadsheet with the following entries:
An ID for the subject by filling in the first letter (in upper case) of the first name and the
surname.
The physical tests that were done subsequently. There is a column representing the results
of the test without added compression to the pelvis, and a column representing the results of
the test with added compression to the pelvis. The results of the physical tests, I have filled
with the digit 0 and 1. Where 0 is a negative score was (no pain) and 1 had a positive score
(pain).
The next column indicates whether there is a proven instability (disregarding weather this
was the result of the tests). Again I use 0 for no and 1 for instability stability. Whether there is
a demonstrated instability by the ASLR test you find in the next column. Also here use was
made of the scores 0 and 1.
