5. Fill Crankcase with oil shown in chart on<br />

6. Fill Radiator with Clean Water -- during<br />

freezing weather, use a sufficient amount of antifreeze<br />

to protect the system for the lowest anticipated<br />

temperature -- refer to Section V.<br />

7. FILL GASOLINE TANK FULL m All new<br />

engines are shipped with a treated tank which<br />

should be completely diluted with a full tank of<br />

gasoline to eliminate any tendency to dog.<br />

Be sure that the container used for filling is<br />

clean and free from dirt. Replace cap securely.<br />

8. Engine Accessories -- see that all points requiring<br />

lubrication are Drol~erly supplied.<br />

9. Electrical Connections -- check storage battery<br />

terminals and all electrical connections. Check<br />

each spark plug wire for tightness.<br />

10. RADIATOR COOLANT CAPSULE -- The<br />

radiator coolant capsule, which comes with the<br />

engine, is a water conditi.oner and anti rust inhibitor<br />

to protect the cooling system. Remove cellophane<br />

wrapper before using.<br />

STARTING THE ENGINE<br />

Normally check daily preventive maintenance<br />

schedule before starting. -- (See Section IV).<br />

1. Safety Control Switch -- (If supplied)<br />

Turn <strong>Manual</strong> control knob with arrow pointing<br />

toward "on" position. When oil pressure builds up<br />

to normal, control knob will automatically release<br />

and arrow will point to "run" position.<br />
