F 11034/1 as holotype <strong>of</strong> B. burmanica. As Hora (1932a)<br />

had not designated a holotype, all the specimens he examined<br />

Taxonomic notes. Differences between B. nantingensis and<br />

B. burmanica (whose type locality is in the same drainage)<br />

seem slight, especially considering the variability observed<br />

in large series <strong>of</strong> B. burmanica from the middle Salween.<br />

The length <strong>of</strong> the caudal peduncle seems the less ambiguous<br />

character to distinguish the two species.<br />
