Taxonomic notes. Authors have considered Gobius tsin-tingyu<br />
as the fish later described as Psilorhynchus sinensis [now<br />
Jinshaia sinensis]. This seems unlikely as Dabry de Thiersant's<br />
figure does not show the typical body shape, the long<br />
caudal peduncle, the deeply forked caudal fin with longer<br />
lower lobe, and the large pectoral fins. Among the fishes<br />
now reported from Sichuan (Ding, 1994) it shows the greatest<br />
similarity to H. yaotanensis.<br />
