Taxonomic notes. In the original description, this species is
said to be "close" to and compared with Paracobitis tigris
but not with other species of Barbatula. The coordinates of
the type locality are the same as for the holotypes of Schistura
ceyhanensis, S. evreni and S. seyhanicola, although they
have different locality data. Generic position follows Freyhof
et al. (2012).
