Her films have undergone a great deal of censorship in the Soviet Union. “Brief Encounters” was printed in just five copies, and “Long Goodbyes” not shown at all until sixteen years later. She won the Silver Bear in Berlin in 1990 for ASTEN- ICHESKIY SINDROM and has got “Leopard of Honour” at Locarno IFF in 1994.
