The Association focuses especially on the works of young filmmakers, short and medium length documentary and scientific films - those directions in the cinema which despite their high cultural and artistic value often encounter difficulties while occupying their place in distribution and introducing themselves to the wide circles of viewers. The ANEMIC Association was named after Anemic Cinema, the renowned film made by Marcel Duchamp in 1925 and its symbolic name responds to the goals of the association. The Florence Film Festival established by the ANEMIC Association is held for the fourth time this year and consists of three sections: 1. Vision off - preliminary show in the presence of the authors (often the first works of the authors are presented in this section); 2. Further the ANEMIC Association takes part in the educational and working events intended for the youth with audiovisual and film materials prepared specifically for such cases. We were pleased to accept the Tbilisi International Film Festival offer about cooperation in organizing the section dedicated to the Italian cinema. When his adoptive grandparents send them off into sudden undesired independence, Gianfranco and Marzia come up against the grotesque reality of an upside-down world governed by rather suspicious individuals in which university degrees and skills have no value. Marzia wants to be a reporter but finds herself forced to accept employment as a switchboard operator for an erotic hotline, while Gianfranco sinks into the trap of holding down two jobs. Despite the enthusiasm of their good intentions, the contrast between their expectations and the reality of a “horribly expensive” life end up having an impact on their relationship. Federico Rizzo was born in Brindisi in 1975 and now lives in Milan. He graduated from ITSOS with a film and television technician’s diploma and from the Civic School of Film, Television and the New Media in Milan with a diploma in screenwriting for film and television. He graduated from the school of film at DAMS in Bologna with a thesis on Ermanno Olmi. He has directed and written the screenplay for several short films and six feature length fiction films filmed using digital technology as part of the “Decalogue of young victims” series. 51
